CHED EASE Scholarship 2026: Requirements and How to Apply


The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is now accepting applications for the Expanding Access to Scholarships for Special Equity Groups (EASE) Program for Academic Year 2026-2027.

Are you an incoming first-year college student belonging to a marginalized or vulnerable sector? The CHED EASE Scholarship was designed specifically to help students like you access higher education and complete your degree.

What is the CHED EASE Scholarship?

The Expanding Access to Scholarships for Special Equity Groups (EASE) Program is a CHED scholarship that strengthens social inclusion by expanding educational opportunities for students from Special Equity Groups (SEGs).

Who are Special Equity Groups (SEGs)?

Special Equity Groups refer to individuals or sectors identified as marginalized, underprivileged, or vulnerable under existing laws, including:

  • Underprivileged and Homeless Citizens (RA 7279)
  • Poor individuals (RA 11291 or Magna Carta of the Poor)
  • Persons with Disabilities or PWDs (RA 7277)
  • Solo Parents and their Children (RA 8972)
  • Senior Citizens (RA 9994)
  • Indigenous Cultural Communities / Indigenous Peoples or ICCs/IPs (RA 8371)

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the CHED EASE Scholarship 2026-2027, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a Filipino citizen residing in the Philippines
  • Must be a duly certified member of any Special Equity Group (SEG)
  • Must be a graduate of a Senior High School in the Philippines with a minimum general average of at least 85% or its equivalent
  • Must be admitted or enrolled in any CHED-identified priority undergraduate program with valid Government Recognition (GR) or Certificate of Program Compliance (COPC), offered by PHEIs, SUCs, or LUCs with Institutional Recognition (IR)
  • Individual income (if employed) or combined annual gross income of parents or legal guardians must not exceed P2,000,000

Documentary Requirements

Applicants must prepare the following documents in PDF or JPEG format before applying:

  • Photocopy of Birth Certificate issued by NSO or PSA
  • Certified True Copy of Form 138 (SF9 or Learner’s Progress Report Card), duly signed by the school registrar
  • Admission Slip or equivalent document from the intended Higher Education Institution

Additional Documents Based on SEG Membership

  • Underprivileged and Homeless Citizens – Certification from the Local Housing Office, Urban Poor Affairs Office, DHSUD, C/MSWDO, or proof of inclusion in the Community-Based Monitoring System (CBMS)
  • Indigenous Peoples – Certification issued by the National Commission on Indigenous Peoples (NCIP)
  • Senior Citizens – Senior Citizen ID issued by the Office of the Senior Citizens Affairs (OSCA)
  • Solo Parents and their Children – Valid Solo Parent ID issued by the C/MSWDO

File Upload Reminders

  • Each file must not exceed 5MB
  • Use clear filenames: LastName_FirstName_DocumentType
  • PDF files must be merged into one file per category and must not be password-protected
  • JPEG images must be clear, well-lit, and showing all four corners of the document
  • All uploads must be rotated correctly (upright)
  • 300 DPI is the recommended scanning resolution

Application Deadline

The deadline for submission of applications is on July 31, 2026.
