The Local Government Unit (LGU) of Jones, Isabela has allocated approximately P19 million for its college scholarship program, benefiting 2,476 qualified student-residents in the municipality.

What is the Isabela College Scholarship Program?

The Jones, Isabela College Scholarship Program, dubbed the New Hope in Equal Learning Opportunities for Education, is a scholarship initiative by the LGU of Jones, Isabela that provides P3,000 per semester in financial assistance to qualified resident-beneficiaries. The distribution of the latest batch of financial assistance was held on September 6.

Mayor Nhel C. Montano said education remains one of the municipality’s top priorities, with a substantial portion of its annual budget earmarked for programs supporting students and other learners.

“One of the biggest slices of the annual budget of our municipality goes to education. This scholarship alone amounts to around P19 million. This is aside from the assistance for board examinees and our honor graduates,” Montano said.
