DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship 2027 – Requirements and How to Apply


The Department of Science and Technology – Science Education Institute (DOST-SEI) is now accepting applications for its S&T Undergraduate Scholarships Program for Academic Year 2027-2028.

What is the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship?

The S&T Undergraduate Scholarships Program aims to encourage talented Filipino students to pursue careers in science and technology. There are two types of scholarships available:

  • Merit Scholarship – Awarded to students with high aptitude in science and mathematics who are willing to pursue careers in science and technology
  • RA 7687 Scholarship – Under the Science and Technology Scholarship Act of 1994, this scholarship is for talented and deserving students whose family’s socio-economic status does not exceed the set cut-off values

Who Can Apply?

To be eligible for the DOST-SEI Undergraduate Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a natural-born Filipino citizen
  • Must be of good moral character and in good health
  • Must NOT have earned any post-secondary (college or vocational) units
  • For graduating Grade 12 students in SY 2026-2027:
    • STEM Strand: All students belonging to the STEM class
    • Non-STEM Strand: Must be in the top 5% of the Non-STEM graduating class
  • For Grade 12 graduates before SY 2026-2027 who have not yet enrolled in college:
    • STEM Strand: All students belonging to the STEM class
    • Non-STEM Strand: Must be in the top 5% of the Non-STEM graduating class

Priority S&T Programs

The scholarship covers a wide range of science and technology degree programs, including but not limited to:

  • BS Computer Science, BS Information Technology, BS Cybersecurity, BS Data Science
  • BS Civil, Electrical, Electronics, Mechanical, Chemical, and other Engineering courses
  • BS Biology, BS Chemistry, BS Physics, BS Mathematics, BS Statistics
  • BS Nursing, BS Pharmacy, BS Medical Technology, BS Nutrition and Dietetics
  • BS Agriculture, BS Fisheries, BS Forestry, BS Environmental Science
  • Doctor of Veterinary Medicine
  • Education courses major in Science, Mathematics, and Technology
  • And many more

Study Placements

Scholars may study at the following institutions:

  • University of the Philippines (UP) System
  • State Universities and Colleges (SUCs)
  • Private institutions recognized by CHED as Centers of Excellence or Centers of Development, or with FAAP Level III accreditation for priority S&T programs

Documentary Requirements

Applicants must prepare the following documents:

  • Form C – Certificate of Good Moral Character
  • Form D – Certificate of Good Health
  • Principal’s Certification
  • Form E1, E2, E3, or E4 – depending on applicant’s strand or learning setup
  • Form F – Certificate of Residency
  • Form G – Parent’s Certification (no pending immigration application)
  • Form H – DOST-SEI Scholarship Examination/Award
  • Form I – Certification of No Post-Secondary Units
  • Form J – Signed Declaration of Applicant and Parent/Legal Guardian
  • Recent passport-size picture (4.5cm x 3.5cm)
  • Birth Certificate
  • Proof of Income
  • Notarized Affidavit of Guardianship (if applicable)
  • Marriage Certificate (for married applicants)

Note: Download the latest Scholarship Forms C to J from the official DOST-SEI website. Print each form on A4 size bond paper and ensure all forms are properly accomplished and signed.

How to Apply for the DOST Scholarship?

Follow these four steps to complete your application:

  1. Register – Create your online application account at the DOST-SEI E-Application System using a valid Gmail, Outlook, Yahoo, or iCloud email address. School or government email domains are NOT accepted.
  2. Accomplish and Upload – Complete all required application modules and upload scanned copies of all documentary requirements. Files must be in PDF, JPG, JPEG, or PNG format, with a maximum size of 5MB per upload.
  3. Select Test Center – Choose your preferred test center for the qualifying examination. Note that once submitted, your test center preference can no longer be changed.
  4. Review and Submit – carefully review all information before clicking the Submit button. No changes can be made after submission.

Important Dates

  • Start of Online Application: August 17, 2026
  • Last Day of Submission: September 17, 2026
  • Qualifying Examination: November 14-15, 2026
  • Test Permit Download: October 2026
  • Announcement of Qualifiers: Tentatively March 2027
  • Effectivity of Scholarship Award: First Semester, AY 2027-2028
