CHED AHEAD Grant 2026 – P25,000 Financial Assistance for Nursing and Allied Health Students
The Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is now offering financial assistance to nursing and allied health students through the Allied Health Experiential Assistance for Deserving Students (AHEAD) Grant for Academic Year 2026–2027.

What is the AHEAD Grant?
The AHEAD Grant is a one-time P25,000 financial subsidy for qualified students enrolled in Related Learning Experience (RLE) programs. The grant aims to help students cover the costs of hospital duties, community immersion, and clinical internships — expenses that can reach as high as P75,000 depending on the year level.
Who Can Apply?
According to CHED Chairperson Shirley Agrupis, the following are the qualifications for the AHEAD Grant:
- Currently enrolled in an RLE program during the first semester of AY 2026–2027
- Combined family income of father and mother should not exceed P1,200,000
- Priority will be given to students who are about to graduate
- Additional points for students belonging to vulnerable sectors such as persons with disabilities (PWDs), indigenous peoples, single parents, and senior citizens

What Programs are Covered?
The AHEAD Grant covers students enrolled in 14 CHED-priority allied health programs, including:
- Nursing
- Pharmacy
- Midwifery
- Physical Therapy
- Respiratory Therapy
- Radiologic Technology
- And other medical-related disciplines
What Can the Grant Be Used For?
The P25,000 subsidy can help students shoulder the following RLE-related expenses:
- Transportation
- Accommodation
- Uniforms
- Internet connectivity
- Medical supplies used during community training

How Many Students Will Benefit?
CHED estimates around 485,000 students are currently enrolled in covered allied health programs nationwide. However, the P500-million allocation can only support around 19,000 beneficiaries for AY 2026–2027.
How to Apply
The AHEAD Grant will be open to qualified students from both public and private higher education institutions offering CHED-recognized allied health programs.
