The Davao City Government will open applications for the Atong Taga-an og Oportunidad ang Nangandoy nga Atleta (ATO NA) Sports Scholarship Program in September 2026, providing financial assistance to qualified student-athletes who have represented the city in accredited competitions.

What is the ATO NA Sports Scholarship Program?

The ATO NA Sports Scholarship Program is a scholarship initiative established by Davao City Mayor Sebastian Duterte through Executive Order No. 15, Series of 2026.

The program will be administered by the Sports Development Division of the City Mayor’s Office (SDD-CMO) and is designed to help local student-athletes balance their studies and their sports careers.

The program aims to reach between 200 and 800 applicants during its initial rollout and covers all sports disciplines recognized by national governing bodies.

Who can apply?

To be eligible for the ATO NA Sports Scholarship, applicants must meet the following requirements:

  • Must be a bona fide resident of Davao City for at least three years
  • Must be enrolled in an institution under DepEd, CHED, Alternative Learning System (ALS), or TESDA within Davao City
  • Must not hold an existing scholarship from a private organization or another institution
  • Must maintain a general average of at least 80%, with no grade below 80% in any subject
  • Must have represented Davao City in accredited sports competitions within the past two years

What are the Scholarship Benefits

For College Students – Full Scholarship

  • P20,000 per semester for tuition
  • P5,000 equipment subsidy per semester

For College Students – Partial Scholarship

  • P5,000 equipment allowance per semester
  • For Junior and Senior High School Student-Athletes
  • P5,000 annual financial assistance

What are the Documentary Requirements

Applicants must submit the following documents:

  • Basic personal and academic records
  • Medical clearance
  • Indigency certification
  • Coach endorsement
  • Proof of sports achievements from the past two years

Note: All applications will undergo evaluation and interviews.
